RE-USE INFORMATION
Plastic grocery bags: Take back to your local grocery store for recycling or reuse or bag your bags and tie and recycle in your curbside recycling bin.
Metal hangers: Take to a dry cleaner, thrift shop, or Last Chance Mercantile.

Packing peanuts: Take to your local mailing company. (UPS Store, etc)
Household Hazardous Waste: Take to your local collection agency or the HHW program at MRWMD. (Non-District residents may pay a small fee for dropping off items.)

Be sure to shop your local thrift stores, including the Last Chance Mercantile, for GREAT bargains.

Yard Waste Bin (where available)

YES: Grass • leaves • plant-clippings • flowers • weeds • sticks • twigs • small branches

NO: Plastic bags • food waste • animal waste • dirt • rocks • concrete • ashes • lumber • treated wood • palm fronds

Recycle Bin

Mixed Paper

YES: Newspaper & inserts • Magazines & catalogues • Cereal & shoeboxes • Junk mail (glossy & staples ok) & stationery • Paper bags • Computer paper • Cardboard (large cardboard must be flattened & tied in 2' by 2' bundles & placed by cart)

NO: Carbon • Blueprints • Books • Tissues • Waxed • cartons • Pizza • boxes • Paper plates • Paper towels • Diapers

Mixed Glass

YES: All Glass bottles and jars. (clear, green, brown)

NO: Light bulbs • Ceramics • Mirrors • Windows • Drinking glasses • Ceramic cups

Metal & Plastic Containers

YES: All aluminium &  metal cans;
plastic containers with a recycle 1 through 7 symbol.

NO: Packaging • Scrap metal • Foil • Metal • Plastic hangers • Plastic trays • Flower pots • Plastic utensils • Styrofoam

Please: Remove lids, caps and corks, Rinse liquid and debris from the container.

Bag your bags and tie

All bags must be clean and empty

Place all plastic bags inside another plastic bag and tie off the top

Place inside your blue recycle cart.

*Please no single bags!

The plastics that can be accepted are listed below: Stretchable, thin plastic including grocery and merchandise bags, produce and bread bags, Ziploc bags, bubble wrap, dry cleaner bags, and plastic film packaging as on cases of soda and water.
