From bag monsters to compost workshops, waste audits to assemblies, litter prevention campaigns to support of special event recycling, and yes, tours too.
MRWMD’s Public Education Department provides opportunities for the public and students to learn more about their local waste management system, as well as, providing support to local “3 R” efforts; Reducing, Reusing and Recycling at home, at school, at work and in our communities.
Tours of the MRWMD Landfill and Resource Recovery Facilities can be scheduled for public and student groups residing or operating within the District’s Service Area*.
Tours last approximately 1.5 hours and can include a presentation, introduction to a “green building”, and a walking or driving tour of facilities depending upon the group’s mode of transportation. The MRWMD facilities and programs will be discussed and visited.
Groups can request a tour of a specific program or facility as needed, i.e. Composting Program, Renewable Energy, C & D Recycling, etc.
For more information about the tours and/or to check on availability, contact:
MRWMD’s Public Education Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org .
